I Brake for Jesus

Driving home from work today, I saw the words "New Driver" on someone's bumper. I'm not sure if that's the same as "Student Driver" - I was behind a training vehicle - or in the spirit of "baby on board", asking the other drivers to have a little extra compassion and patience for the new driving school graduate.

While there's something of a stigma to admitting you're a new driver (imagine the jeers in a high school parking lot), there is also something comforting in having your uncertainty out in the open.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could wear signs like that?
  • "New Christian"
  • "Having Doubts"
  • or maybe "Uninspired"

People might be a little more patient when that new Christian makes a mistake or misstates something. You could give them a little room, rather than drive the hard questions right for their bumper.
