An article in USA Today (and published online today by Yahoo! News) states that a newly completed study has shown that a sense of humor can actually prolong your life. Over a seven-year study, out of "2,015 who had a cancer diagnosis at the start, a great sense of humor cut someone's chances of death by about 70% compared with adults with a poor sense of humor".

And why shouldn't that be so?

We were made in God's image, and I've no doubt that God has a sense of humor. First, He created ours, just like He created everything else of our minds and bodies. Second, you only have to look around to see it. The world has some very funny things in it - the platypus being the classic example. Lastly, we need to be like little children in order to come to God as our Father, and children do love to laugh.

So laugh at something today. Play. It may save your life, and it will definately bring you closer to Him.
