Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He promised His Holy Spirit to the apostles. This same Spirit is offered to each of us, though it does not manifest in each of us in exactly the same way it did in the apostles.
To use Paul's analogy, a body cannot function if it is nothing but hands, or all mouths, all heads, or a multitude of hearts. A body needs different parts to function, so the Spirit calls us to different functions in the Body of Christ - the Church.
In both possible readings from Paul's letter to the Ephesians (1:17-23 or 4:1-13), he writes about the giving of the Spirit. God gives each of us grace through His Holy Spirit to fulfill our personal calling. Pray Paul's words, today, as our own:
"May the God of my Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give me a Spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him. May the eyes of my heart be enlightened, that I may know what is the hope that belongs to his call."
